A Sincere and Evocative Love-Letter :
GOENKA CHAMBERS,
A.T. ROAD,
GUWAHATI.
Darling Shikha,
I hardly believe my love to be so pure, simple and unmixed as I had thought it was because it does have its alterations and seasonal fluctuations like the perennial grass. To think throughout the winter season when I declared that my love was endless I was only telling lies. Now I idealize that the spring season has made addition to it.
This love is like a medicine which cures all sorrow by giving the patient more of sorrow. If follows the LIKE CURES LIKE. It borrows from the sun its restorative powers and its motive force. Love is not so pure and abstract as it is generally supposed to be by people who are devoted to their beloved with the coming of the spring season. My love has grown more eminent than stars in heaven.
Just as blossoms burst out of the branches in spring, gentle acts of love burst out of the roots of love. If a stone is thrown into water it stirs numerous circles which go on enlarging till they reach the banks of the pool. Similarly the joys of love go on growing from time to time. Just as the concentric hollow globes revolve around the earth and carry the heavenly bodies with them, similarly all the joys of love growing larger and larger from time to time have only you as their center.
Yours devotedly,
Deepan
