This has reference to your today’s advertisement in THE EMPLOYMENT NEWS for the recruitment of newsreader for (English) 9.00p.m. News bulletin. I hereby offer my services for the above post.


I send herewith my qualifications and experience in the above field for your kind consideration.


I passed my B.A (Hons.) English examination from Delhi University in second division. Thereafter I did my M.A. English from the same university. During my college days, I participated in debates and other extra-curricular activities. I was once selected president of the college debate society.


I am a good speaker and have won a number of prizes in declamation contests during college life. I also participated in college players’ society.


I am a young lady of 22 years, have a good personality and a sweet voice. I have cleared the audition test conducted by DOORDARSHAN last week. I appeared as an anchor-person in twelve episodes of close-up Antakshari telecast by Sony T.V.


I have command over both English and Hindi and converse fluently. I take keen interest in current affairs and my general-knowledge is not bad.
