Gerunds :
A gerund is that form of the verb which ends ING and has the force of a noun and a verb.
The forms of the verb are the same as that of the preset participle.
A gerund is a kind of noun whereas a particle is a kind of adjective hence we can say gerund is a verbal noun but the participle is an adjective.

Smoking
Debating
Writing
Telling
Smiling
Cajoling
Typing
Seeing
Coloring
Examples of Gerund :Walking is a good exercise.
Writing is an art.
Smoking is prohibited.
Smiling is the cure.
Punishing the students for these kinds of offences will not give results.
