Dear Sir,

Sub : Refund due to me

Ref : My Permanent Account No. 3624 RX

For the financial year 1998 – 99, a sum of Rs.2,000/- has been deducted towards income tax by my employer. While I have purchased National Savings Certificates to the tune of Rs.10,000 I could not produce the same to my employer, since I have misplaced them. In view of this, they could not take this amount into consideration for rebate in income tax.

Just now I could locate the missing certificates. Enclosed please find my income tax return for the assessment year 1999-2000. you will note that tax due from me is nil. Please arrange to send the refund order along with pay order for Rs.2,000/- and oblige.

Thanking you.

Yours faithfully,

D.S. POORNACHANDAR
