Your March 16 editorial "Fear no more," on the recent GeneralElectric-funded study finding no correlation betweenpolychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and cancer deaths, left outseveral key facts.
Perhaps the researchers in the GE study found no link betweenPCBs only on cancer deaths, rather than on cancer incidence.
Furthermore, the study looked at all workers, many of whomhave had no known exposures to PCBs. The workers also hadvery limited exposure to the most toxic/carcinogenic PCB, Aroclor1254. Its production was stopped in 1954, but it continues toaffect humans and the environment. This is a clear example ofnot finding what you don't look for.
This is not good science. Many other studies have shown astrong link between PCB exposure and cancer.
The Environmental Protection Agency, the National ToxicologyProgram and the World Health Organization's InternationalAgency for Research on Cancer all consider PCBs to be a"probable human carcinogen."
Regardless of any debate over the connection between cancerand PCBs, there is solid scientific evidence that PCBs impededevelopment. Their presence can have long-term effects on adeveloping fetus, leading to intellectual, behavioral, immune system and reproductive impairment.
In addition, children exposed in the womb, such as those inJapan and Taiwan following the rice-oil poisonings of the late1960s, clearly have problems with skin, teeth, hair, nails, growth and puberty.
This study was funded by GE, which faces steep litigation andclean-up costs from irresponsible PCB dumping in New York andMassachusetts.
The study found exactly what is was designed to find: nothing.

This is a typical Letter about PCB Study. You have to add your company's name with full address. And the receiver's name and full address also should be added in the place allotted for that purpose. Without those primary details no letter carries any significance. So, you are requested to provide all those important details. Failing which the letter will make a wrong impression about your company and you among the receivers of your letters. This is the most unwanted attitude on your side in dealing with the clients who are the most valued assets of any business organisation. If necessary, leave those spaces blank.
