This is a sample Letter to Father Saying You Do Not Want To Get Married.
10th May 2004
My dear father,
Many thanks for your loving letter. I am glad to know that dear brother has come back from England.
I learn from your letter that you have almost decided about my marriage date and that mother has also given her consent to your proposal. It is clear from your letter that you are anxious for my marriage immediately, but I must say boldly that your decision is not to my liking. I dare to say that my marriage at a premature age will be a great hindrance to my studies. I have decided to compete in the IAS examination and you know that it is very difficult for one to get through the examination unless one works hard for that. In case I am married at this young age, it would be simply impossible for me to put in hard work. My marriage would mean that I would have to say good-bye to my studies.
Besides, I wish to marry only when I am settled in life. You have already spent huge amount on the education of your children and I would not like to be a burden on you. You know, it is money alone which can bring happiness and marriage and without sufficient money to make both ends meet and maintain a home, would be simply a hell.
I am quite young and you will agree with me that I should not think of marriage and postpone it for sometime.
Dear father, you know that I am an obedient and devoted son and I have never disobeyed you. I am sure that you will not be angry with me for speaking so frankly, boldly and plainly. I am quite certain that you will not press me any further for the marriage.
I am waiting anxiously for your reply.
