Love-Letter by A Married Lady to A Bachelor

Love-Letter by A Married Lady to A Bachelor :

Dear Mr. Khanna,

I know I am the wife of some body and as such I have no right to love you, although you are a bachelor and have the right to love any woman. You have been my partner in dancing on certain occasions and that has been the cause of my love for you. I danced with many other people before I met you, but then nobody knows the art of dancing so much as you do.

People say that it is the touch of the opposite sex which inspires the partners to whirl with so much grace and ease. That may be partly true. But unless one knows the art, how can his steps be free, how can he hold his partner or chime with her toes in such a harmony?

I cannot forget how softly and yet how closely you held me with both of your hands while going round and round. I felt your very breath on my lips and the flame of your eyes on my bosom as we toe the floor together. Every time you drew me closer and pressed me gently against your bosom, I seemed to be in half-wakefulness and half in a dream, although I know, you are perfectly alert with your toes and feet and sometimes in a fit of ecstasy, your lips brushed gently my cheeks, my eyes and the wisps of hair scattered on my temple. Those few moments seemed to me like blissful eternity and although sometimes I used to be feel tired yet the soft pressure of your bosom made me forget altogether the fatigue which generally follows dancing.

When I think of your wonderful height, your slim body, your arms and even your toes matched with mine, I wonder why I have not been married to you. I have been feeling that we two would have made wonderful partner in life as we have made partners in dancing.

But then, the irony of fate has ordained otherwise.

Your dancing partner,

Mrs. Agarwal
