SUBJECT : New Position

I enjoyed our luncheon meeting last week too bad we didn’t have more time. Before you move into your new position, I’d like to go over a few points and clarify your duties in better detail.

From September 15 forward, representatives Debojit Sen and Kishor Swami will be reporting to you. I know youve met these fine workers, and I expect you’ll all work well together. If you have any communication snags early on, let me know. I’d be glad to get involved.

The plans we made over lunch regarding current and future clients seem fairly selfexplanatory.

I don’t anticipate you having any problems where client services are concerned, but if you have questions, please feel free to call me. Enclosed please find an updated mailing/phone list for clients in your district.

One additional topic we didn’t touch on: As department manager, you will be expected to hire at least two new employees over the next six months. As you know, we lost some valuable employees over the summer, and it’s time to replace them (on the double). Obviously, I trust your judgment. Good luck locating the best people for the job.

I think that’s about it. Congratulations on this advanced position! Your responsibilities are greater, but I’m sure you’re up to the challenge. Let’s keep in touch over the next couple of months. I’m ready to answer questions 9 a.m. to 5 p.m
