The Heading of The Business Letter :

The heading indicates when and where the letter was written and thus it comprises the name and postal address of the writer. Sometimes it may also contain other particulars such as description of the business, the telephone number, the telegraphic address etc. the letter head of a large concern may give the addresses of its branches. A limited company must add the word Limited to its name and give its registered address. If the company is a private limited one, the word private should precede the word Limited. The name and address is given in the right-hand corner. The heading printed at the top of the page is called the letter head. A letter head is an expression of a firm’s personality. It has a psychological significance since it helps to form one’s impression about the writer’s firm. Accordingly, the printing should be neat and dignified. Proper spacing between the name of the firm and its address is very important. A few examples of a heading are given below :
