The Signature in The Business Letter :

The signature is placed after the complimentary close. It should be written by hand and should be legible. If it is not legible, the name of the person should be typed below his signature.

The signature of a sole trader should be his real name or the assumed name. In the case of a firm any of the partners of a firm should sign on behalf of the firm. He may do this by writing or typewriting the name of the firm and putting his own signature below the name of the firm. In case of a limited company some important official of the company such as a Manager, Managing Director or the Secretary should sign a letter on behalf of the company. The form of this part of the letter will be clear from the specimen letters which follows.
