Tip On Writing Business Letter : Claims For Goods And Parcels

This Letter should be written in The Letter-Pad of the Company.

While submitting the claims for non-delivery, shortage or damage to the goods, parcels or luggage booked to station on any ralway, the claimants must furnish full booking particulars ie. invoice or parcel way bill number or luggage ticket number, railway receipt number and date of booking, names of from and to stations and partuculars of claim. In case if non-delivery the claimant must submit the original railway receipt or its xerox copy and beejuck in support of his claim.

In case of shortage, damage or breakage the claimant must attach the shortage or assessment certificate or any other documents granted by the station master at the time of delivery. Further if the claim is from the consignor, the consignor must produce a letter of authority from the consingnee as the claim is normally paid to him. Claimants must appreciate that their claims cannot be processed in absence of above documents for expendtious disposal of claims, the claimants are requesed to prefer their claims as indicted above within six months from the date of booking of the consingnemnt in prescribed format to chief commercial manager (claims)/ chief claims officer.
