Under Employed, Underground Economy, Underpaid :




Under Employed : someone who is engaged in such work wherein he or she does not utilise his or her level of education, experience or competence. A condition characterised by the presence of an excess number of workers over the number of jobs available. In a company, when a worker faces a layoff situation, he or she may exercise the right to expel a less senior person and thus end up having a lower level job. Refers to a plant, production line, machine, etc. that is no being utilised to its full capacity.



Underground Economy : Describes those activities that are left unreported for tax purposes or to evade tax, such as bartering for goods or services, payments off the books or dealing in illegal substances



Underpaid : one who has been inadequately compensated in a particular pay period such as due to an error in the reported hours, wage rate, etc. used in relation to a person who is getting a lower wage than the legally fixed rate which may be originally agreed to by the employer may be specified in a contractor or is the standard rate for such job in that market
