What should I do if there is more than one Job Objective?

What should I do if there is more than one Job Objective? :

What if you have not yet decided on one job target for yourself or if you have more than one job objective?

Write different resume for different job target. Tailor your resume according to the position you are applying. A Targeted Resume is much powerful than a general one.

What if you have a number of short term jobs in your work history?

To minimize the job-hopper image, combine several jobs into one.

Example :

• 1993-1995 : Assistant Manager / Receptionist - Ravi Printers - Kanishka Hotel

• 1993-1995 : Office Assistant / Assistant Accounts - Parle Biscuits - Milan Traders

In above example, two jobs done in the period are merged and combined.

There is one more way. If the jobs are not important to mention, you can just drop some of them or at least the briefest jobs can be safely left. But if there is any job from where you have learnt some skill, it is advisable to mention that.

What is the employer mainly interested in?

What is the best way to impress an employer?

The employers are chiefly interested in a person who can solve the problems generally occurring in a company. If your resume contains such events and the action taken with positive result, the employer will come to you. Fill your resume with such statements. Mention the problem that existed in your workplace and then tell how you got rid of that problem and narrate the results. The employer is most impressed by such a candidate.

Examples :

Reshaped and transformed a disorganized and loss making readymade cloth manufacturing unit into a smooth running and profit generating unit by properly organizing the manufacturing process and motivating the workers

Systematized the super market’s billing and delivery system that reduced the delay to customers which had positive effect on the customer’s satisfaction and thus the sale improved y 18%

What if your job title does not reflect your actual level of responsibility?

It is better to use both the titles in bracket like Administrative Assistant and Office Manager.
