Work in Process = Work in Progress : An item included in the inventory, representing the costs of labour and material allocated to merchandises that are still in the process of production. Manufactured good for which production has to be started or for which the production is partly completed. Accordingly, it tells department or operation about the workload further on.



Workload : The work to be completed within a particular period of time. The amount of work allocated to or which can be accomplished a person, assembly line, machine entity, etc.



Workmen Compensation : mandated by state that repays the workers who are wounded on the job. In general, the worker is repaid for medical expense, disability and lost wages.



Work Order : An official document explaining the client’s identity, clarification of work to be done and other instructions for carrying out the work. For example, a request to a service department to perform a specific task as for maintenance on a machine.
