Dear Ms. Kenney,
Laura Swenson told me that she resigned recently to move closer to her fiancee. I know that you will miss Laura as a person and as a professional. But the show must go on, so you are probably looking for someone to fill
the role Laura played so well as your stage manager. May I suggest my own name for your consideration?
The theater has been my passion since high school. While I have been an amateur actress, managing the stage has been of greater interest over the last five years. It allows me to combine my passion with my penchant for
pragmatism. Consider these accomplishments.
• Stage Manager for both low-budget productions like Insomnia in Syracuse and high-tech extravaganzas like Star Jars : Revenge of the Vulcanized Peanut Butter.
• Managed productions with both amateur crews and unionized crews. The curtain went up on schedule in every case.
• Every stage show I managed came in on or under budget.
Although I enjoy my current job, I am looking for a new challenge. The Invisible Theater, with your imaginary actors and transparent props, is just what I am looking for.
My resume is enclosed. Let's discuss the possibility of my joining your theater group as stage manager. I will call you in a few days to see what you think.
cc: Laura Swenson
