For most entry-level jobs, meaning right after college, one page is enough.
For sophisticated positions, usually requiring years of experience and graduate or professional degrees, the resume can and should be longer. If you are in a performance field, such as acting, dance, painting and so on, you should have a performance resume, but it should not be sent. It should, however, be noted, as in performance resume available on request. When you are asked in for an interview, bring along not only
the traditional resume but the performance resume as well.
The resume is merely an eye-catcher. The clincher is the interview or round of nterviews (and you should bring along extra copies of the resume in case you are interviewed by more than one person).
How long should my resume be?

One page is enough. Your resume is a summary of the highlights of your career and education. It’s not a detailed autobiography. The more you include the less likely it is that the potential employer will find those one or two critical experiences that make you the strongest candidate for the position. When you extend your resume beyond one page, you run the risk that anything on the subsequent pages may never be seen.
You break no laws going onto a second page, but if you are going to do it make it worthwhile. Certainly don't tack on a second page for just one sentence or bullet point. Move your margins to make it fit. And never print a two-page resume double-sided-you will run an enormous risk that the second page will never be seen.
A two-page resume is acceptable if you have a long career, special accomplishments or a laundry list of certifications that need to be communicated. Just remember your resume is not an autobiography. The goal is communicate enough information about your accomplishments to tease the reader into extending an invitation for an interview.
It is expected and accepted for academic and technical research people to use a multiple-page resume which is commonly called curriculum vitae.
