Free Resume Cover Letters : The marketing research personnel collect, analyze and interpret data to determine potential sales of a product or service.

The cover letter adds to your attractiveness as a candidate in three ways.

Highlighting : You can give those positive characteristics of greatest interest to a particular employer more prominence in the cover letter than you did in your resume.

Reframing : Through your cover letter, you can put some of your experiences in a frame of reference that more closely meets the needs of the employer.

New material : Your cover letter can include material of interest to an employer that would be difficult to present in a resume. Your motivation for wanting to work for that particular company is an example.

How cari we organize our research so that we can write many cover letters without starting from scratch each time?

We identified three areas for immediate research.

• Career / job

• Industry / products

• Specific company

Of these three points, the first two can be researched for a whole cluster of potential companies. For example, if you are interested in commercial banking, letters to all commercial banks of interest could draw upon the same industry research. If you are interested in being a retail buyer, letters to all retailers could draw upon the same career research. Only information specific to a given firm would require its own research. Even then, we will see how company-specific research, too, can be conducted to benefit letters for more than one flrm. It was time to start our research.

The steps would apply to most careers.

There is a question about the quantity / quality tradeoff in letter-writing. Given the difficult current job market, you may feel that you want to send out a large number of resumes. On the other hand, we know that a high-quality letter is important to securing an interview. The time required for a quality letter would seem to conflict with writing a lot of them and vice-versa. Is there a way out of this dilemma?
