How long should my resume be? : Resume Service Writing

If you are a recent college graduate or have completed or are currently enrolled in job-specific training, list your relevant course work, any honors or awards you have received and internships and student memberships in professional associations or other related affiliations. In addition, you can list any relevant research you have conducted or papers you have written, your leadership and community or volunteer experience and other special qualifications such as foreign language fluency and any computer software programs that you know.

It's OK to have limited work experience. Employers are always looking for people with less experience because, very honestly, they cost less and because employers are less worried about losing these people to a better job whenever the economy makes a slight improvement.

If you have limited work experience, you can be creative in describing the work experience you do have. Employers value soft skills such as good communication (oral and written), initiative, enthusiasm, flexibility, dependability and so on, and these abilities may be demonstrated in the way you describe your experience. Additionally, work experience does not translate to paid work. Volunteer work or projects / hobbies that demonstrate skills relevant to the position for which you are applying can be listed and described on your resume.

Your overall grade point average should be listed if it is above a 3.0/4.0. If lower, it is better to use your grade point average in your major, assuming it will be much higher.
